Privacy Policy

Last updated: 16 October 2026

This policy explains what personal data Sailvane collects, why, how it is protected, and the rights you have. It covers this website (sailvane.com) and the Sailvane software, which is in development and not yet available to the public.

1. Who we are

Sailvane is an independently developed software product, operated by Elliott Thornhill, an individual based in the United Kingdom. Sailvane is not a registered company. In this policy, "Sailvane", "we" and "us" mean Elliott Thornhill, trading as Sailvane.

We are the controller of the personal data described in this policy. For anything about privacy, email support@sailvane.com.

2. This website

This website does not use cookies, analytics, advertising trackers or contact forms, and it does not load content from third-party services. Its fonts and images are served from this site.

Like any website, its hosting provider (Netlify, Inc.) automatically processes technical information needed to deliver the pages, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested, and may keep this in server logs for security and reliability.

If you email us, we receive your email address, your name if you include it, and the contents of your message. We use these only to reply and to deal with your enquiry, and we keep them only as long as needed for that.

3. The Sailvane software

Sailvane is AI-powered advertising software for businesses and marketing agencies. It is in development: it is not yet available to the public, and it is currently used only by its developer for testing. This section describes how the software handles personal data, so it is clear before anyone else uses it.

Account information

To use Sailvane, a person will need an account. We will process their name, email address, the name of their business or agency, the people they invite, and their role (for example owner, admin or client).

Business information you provide

Information you enter to plan advertising, such as your website address, products, budgets, target countries and the wording of ads.

4. Google sign-in and Google Ads data

Sailvane lets an owner or admin of a Sailvane account connect their Google Ads accounts by signing in with Google. This only happens if you choose to connect, and Google shows you exactly what you are allowing before you agree.

What Sailvane asks Google for

Google Ads data Sailvane accesses

DataHow it is usedStatus
The Google Ads accounts your Google login can access: account ID, account name, currency, time zone, and whether it is a manager or test accountShown to you, so you can see which accounts are connected. This list is read from Google when you view it, and is not stored by Sailvane.Built (read only)
Advertising performance for accounts you choose, such as cost, impressions, clicks, conversions and conversion valueShown in your reports, alongside your own salesPlanned
Campaign information needed to create campaigns you have approvedCreating campaigns only after you approve themPlanned

Sailvane currently only reads from Google Ads. It does not create, change or delete anything in your Google Ads accounts. Before any planned feature in the table above is released, we will update this policy.

Google API Services User Data Policy

Sailvane's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

In particular, data received from Google APIs:

Sailvane uses AI to help draft advertising plans and ad wording. It does not currently send any data received from Google APIs to an AI service. If a future feature needs to do so to provide that feature to you, we will update this policy first, and the data will still never be used to train AI models.

5. How access tokens are protected

When you connect Google, Google gives Sailvane access tokens, which let Sailvane read your Google Ads information without your Google password. Sailvane never sees or stores your Google password.

6. Why we use personal data (lawful bases)

7. Sharing and service providers

We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it with other Sailvane users.

As the software is prepared for public use, we will use further providers, for example for hosting the software and its database, sign-in, and email. We will name them in this policy before they process anyone's personal data.

We may also disclose personal data if the law requires it.

8. International transfers

Some providers, including Netlify and Google, are based in or process data in the United States. Where personal data is transferred outside the UK, we will rely on the safeguards UK GDPR requires, such as an adequacy decision (including the UK–US data bridge, where the provider participates) or approved contract terms.

9. How long we keep data

10. Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to:

To use any of these rights, email support@sailvane.com. We will reply within one month. You also have the right to complain to the UK's data protection regulator, the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk), though we would appreciate the chance to help first.

11. Children

Sailvane is for businesses and is not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect children's personal data.

12. Changes to this policy

We will update this policy as Sailvane develops, and before any new type of data is collected. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
